Alachua County Inmate Search & Bond Information
If someone was arrested in Gainesville or elsewhere in Alachua County, start with the Sheriff’s official inmate search. It can confirm current custody and help you identify the information needed before discussing a bond.
How to check an Alachua County booking
The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office says its inmate search can be used to determine whether a person is currently housed in the Alachua County Jail. The search accepts a last name, first name and/or booking number, and incomplete names can be used.
1. Search the official ACSO tool
Use the Sheriff’s inmate-search page first so you are working from the current county source.
2. Note the charges and bond status
Write down the booking information, each listed charge and any bond amount or hold you see.
3. Call with the details
When a bond appears available, call with the defendant’s full name, date of birth and booking information.

No bond is listed
The defendant may need judicial review or another court action before a bond can be posted.
Release processing
After an accepted bond or other release order, the jail controls final release processing and timing.
